Nikon’s Measuring Microscopes, when configured as shown at left with the binocular head and eyepieces, are only offered with fixed magnification lenses. This requires the user to unscrew one objective lens and screw in another to change the field-of-view. A zoom lens is available for the Video Head, which eliminates the binocular eyepiece tube and the superior optical image available there. Many operators would prefer that a zoom lens was available so they could zoom the image over a wide range for viewing through the eyepieces or to a video/digital camera.
DC Imaging has developed an adapter that permits the Optem Zoom Optical Systems to be mounted and used in a parfocal manner (the image stays centered and in focus as you zoom). This increases the capability and ease-of-use of the microscope substantially. Detents can be added that permit calibration at repeatable mag positions. Please contact us for compatibility questions.
